Hi Ellissa, I did some research on the triple glazed windows for the dream home last year and found some interesting facts. You should take a look at Cardinal Glass, because you can look up the statistics for all types of glazing. N.A.P ( National Aluminum Products) in Kelowna might have some information for you as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chad, I'll look into that & post what I find.
ReplyDeleteI know this may sound kind of stupid but i think you should add insulation in under your wood frame home section. You may also want to check out the types of siding since ICF's may not be able to support certain types.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tony. No That doesn't sound stupid. I somehow oversaw that part of the wood frame wall assembly. I'll use R20 Batt Insulation, I do believe that is the most commonly found insulation in wood-frame construction.

ReplyDeleteHere's a link to the LaFarge cement plants website. There is some information on sustainable construction.

Thanks Mike, I will definitely have a look. It's very useful. Since the plant is in Kamloops it will affect the overall outcome of the embodied energy coming from the conrete in the wall. The energy from transportation will be much much less.
